The Beautiful Fracture

Have you ever thought you had it all figured out, only to realize you hadn't even scratched the surface of who you truly are? We often coast through our days, comfortable in our routines and roles, assuming our identity is fixed. But sometimes, it takes a profound fracture—a shattering of the life we built—to reveal the authentic self waiting underneath.

For me, that fracture happened at fifty. A twenty-five-year marriage to a woman I had known for thirty years came to an end. At the time, it felt like an insurmountable failure. This relationship had been the absolute center of my universe, the bedrock upon which I had built my life. When it dissolved, I was left holding the pieces of an existence I no longer recognized, feeling as though I had failed at the one thing that mattered most.

But here is the paradox of a fractured life: it is only when the foundation cracks that the light can finally get in.

What followed was a decade of deep, intentional introspection. It was a period defined by relentless personal and professional development. Peeling back the layers of expectations, past regrets, and old habits wasn't always comfortable, but it was incredibly necessary. I had to learn how to sit with myself, to question everything I thought I knew, and to rebuild my sense of self from the ground up.

Ten years later, on the other side of that intense inner work, I finally understand exactly who I am, what I want, and what I need.

Today, my life is beautiful, easy, and incredibly rewarding. The heavy burdens of the past have been replaced by a daily commitment to the effortless present. I don't carry the weight of that perceived "failure" anymore. Instead, my days are anchored by three core pillars - T.A.G.:

  • Tolerance: Extending grace to myself and to everyone else navigating their own complex lives.

  • Acceptance: Embracing life exactly as it is in this moment, without wishing it were different.

  • Gratitude: Waking up thankful for the journey that brought me here.

When you reach this place of peace, you realize that the best way to honor your own healing is to share that light with the world. I try to live every single day embracing The H.O.P.E. Spirit: Helping Other People Everyday.

That’s why my daily mission is simply planting OAK TREES: One Act of Kindness To Raise Everyone’s Energy. It doesn’t require grand gestures or sweeping declarations. The most profound changes happen in the small, quiet moments of connection.

Whether it's a genuine compliment to a stranger, holding the door, or simply listening to someone who needs to be heard, these small seeds of kindness ripple outward, transforming not just the recipient's day, but your own.

I hope you will plant an OAK TREE today.... ssshhhh!!!! I may plant two.
